“Volumes and Layers” examines the shifting landscape of modern work, where we find ourselves caught in a cycle of semi-nomadic adaptation—a life assembled in fragments, always ready to be packed and moved. These modular, mobile structures interrogate a world where work and identity are no longer fixed but rather fluid, continually rearranged to fit the next context, the next trip, the next uncertain horizon.

Through the visual language of boxes, compartments and layers, the project reflects a society that increasingly values adaptability over rootedness, agility over permanence. It raises a question: what happens to us when we are expected to live in a perpetual state of readiness, where our skills and selves are compartmentalized, boxed and prepared to be reassembled in the image of each new mission?

Is adaptability truly a strength when it becomes a default state, demanded by structures that dismiss stability as an outdated luxury? Or is it, rather, a form of displacement, a slow erosion of belonging? “Volumes and Layers” invites us to question a culture that celebrates the nomadic worker as a symbol of freedom, yet leaves behind a quiet shadow of fragmentation—asking us to consider whether the promise of flexibility obscures the deeper loss of home, stability and rootedness in both our work and ourselves.
